A history of travel to many countries, love of nature, architecture, suiseki stones and a grower of bonsai tropical ficus trees provides inspiration for this Michigan artist’s work. Gerald paints in watercolor and acrylic media in a style that represents impressionism to abstract.

Gerald Peters studied art at College for Creative Studies and received a full scholarship to attend Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, where he received a BFA with honors.

Working at General Motors Styling for several years, he then moved on to become Vice Chairman, Director of Design at Ford & Earl Design Associates, then Yamasaki Architects, where he became the firm’s President and owner of Minoru Yamasaki Associates Interiors and Senior Vice President, Principal, Yamasaki Associates Architects. Gerald has traveled extensively to many parts of our country and the world for various architectural and interior design projects. Years of travel have provided great memories and subjects for his paintings.

Gerald was involved with many Corporate 500 companies, Federal Reserve Banks and various medical centers in the acquisition of art collections projects. Local art communities within the geographic area of each building project provided the basis for selection and inclusion into each art collection program. Gerald enjoyed interacting with both established and just-beginning artists during these processes.

Gerald continued to paint during his professional career and recently decided to devote full time as artist. His work has been represented by The Rubiner Gallery and hangs in many corporate and private art collections around the country.
